Size does matter... Whether being carried from location to
location or being used at a fixed site, the Earscan® 3
audiometer’s size makes it a perfect fit. This lightweight, truly
portable audiometer is equally at home in the palm of your hand or
taking up a fraction of the work space of other “portable”
audiometers.
So does quality... The Earscan® 3 has been designed to the
same strict quality standards that have defined all Micro
Audiometrics products, from the durability of the enclosure to the
signal presentation quality. With one of the longest warranties on
the market, you can be sure the Earscan® 3 will serve you now and
in the years to come.
And so do features... The standard Earscan® 3 is a fully
programmable audiometer, allowing customization of the entire test
procedure, from the intensity step size to the frequencies
selected for testing and the order in which they are presented.
The Earscan® 3 can accommodate both the standard headset as well
as optional insert earphones. Calibration is password protected to
ensure the integrity of data. Built in calibration reminders
ensure the validity of test results. With the supplied USB cable,
data can be transferred to, or controlled by, any compatible PC
software (software sold separately.)
With the optional Test Storage feature, the Earscan 3 can store
data on commonly available SD memory cards. A 128 MB memory card
can hold approximately 64,000 audiometric exams. Since the memory
card is replaceable, this provides virtually unlimited storage
capacity. Also available is a Test Analysis option which provides
the Earscan 3 with the ability to perform baseline comparisons,
calculate STS, STS with presbycusis and PBI results. An optional
printer allows for quick printouts of the test results upon test
completion. When all of these options are combined, it provides
the occupational health professional a complete hearing
conservation solution in one small, portable package. |

a patient, along with their respective baseline status and threshold

| The Earscan 3
Screening Audiometer (ES3S) and Earscan 3 Threshold Audiometer
(ES3) are capable of sending data to a PC using the supplied USB
cable. While connected to the PC, test data can be sent directly
to any printer to which you have access. It is also possible to
store audiograms which can then be viewed or printed at a later
time. The application supports multiple Earscan 3 Audiometers
simultaneously connected to a single PC using USB. |

| PLEASE NOTE:
While the Earscan Printing Utility software application is capable
of storing tests that have been received from compatible
audiometers, this application is NOT intended to be used as a
database management solution. You may store as many tests as you
like, reload them at a later time for viewing or printing, and
delete individual tests from the stored list. This application
does not provide any further data management abilities, there is
no way to edit the received/stored data, and there are no built in
abilities to backup the stored data. The Earscan 3 Manual
Audiometer (ES3M) does not have the capability to transfer test
data to this application. |
Known Issues:
Users must have Administrator rights in order to use the data
storage option of this application. This is due to the location of
the database file in the Program Files directory. This is a known
issue and it will be addressed in a future version of this
program. This problem does not apply to the printing of received
test data.
This version corrects a previous issue that caused an error when
using this application with new Earscan 3 model ES3S units with
serial numbers starting 010503. If you have a unit with a serial
number in this range and encounter an error when sending test data
to this application, please update to v1.1.0.3 to resolve this
issue. |

Easy to use... With the Automatic Screening function,
simply set the frequencies and levels you want to test, and the
audiometer will only test those specific frequencies and levels.
This provides for a quick exam to ensure the test subject can hear
at the specified level. The Earscan® 3 is a fully programmable
audiometer, allowing customization of the entire test procedure,
from the intensity step size to the frequencies selected for
testing.
Operator to patient communication (talkover) is built in, allowing
test instructions to be presented via the headset. Calibration is
password protected to ensure the integrity of data. Built in
calibration reminders ensure the validity of test results.
Upgradeability ensures that the Earscan® 3 will meet both current
and future needs.
In addition to the above features, the High Levels Option allows
for testing of patients with a more profound hearing loss. The
Dual Headset Option provides the ability to have two headsets
calibrated to the same unit, allowing the use of both the standard
TDH-39 headset as well as optional insert earphones. With standard
RS-232 communications, data can be transferred to a variety of
printers and PC programs.
