RAM 744 Series
Respiratory Air System
Manufactured by GfG |
|
Clean Air And Peace Of Mind
The RAM 744 monitor is designed to satisfy OSHA monitoring requirements for
Grade "D" breathing air. Utilizing a MOS Broad Range sensor, the monitor not
only alerts the user to excessive carbon monoxide levels that enter the
airline system, but also organic vapors such as solvents and hydrocarbons
that are present after the air has been filtered. Operating from a 110V AC
or rechargeable NiCad battery power source, this unit is able to activate
optional devices like an air horn that is safe in explosive environments
such as paint booths. A simple calibration system, alarm contacts and
compact size make the RAM 744 ideal for many applications. The design of the
RAM 744 requires mounting with a GfG 25, 50 or 100 CFM airline filter system. |
|
Respiratory Air Specifications
The Instrumentation Air Breathing Line Instruments satisfy the requirements
of OSHA rule 29 CFM 1910.134 (d) (2) (ii) for carbon monoxide monitoring.
They will also monitor Grade E air which is generally specified for
breathing air in cylinders (SCBA). |
|
Carry-Air Portable Filter Panel Options:
9025 (25 CFM), 9050 (50 CFM) and 9100 (100 CFM)
The highly portable Carry-Air encloses the three stage 25 or 50 CFM filter
panels with the RAM 744 monitor in a convenient and durable carrying case.
Designed to operate with the case closed, the 9025, 9050 and 9100 have a single
male quick connect inlet and four female quick connect outlets. Externally
mounted On/Off/Test switch, alarm light, and horn make the operation and
monitoring of the system convenient. Internally, the monitor is powered by a
rechargeable NiCad battery pack. |
|
Application
The RAM-744 is an inline, respiratory air monitor for protection from carbon
monoxide in compressor supplied breathing air. This instrument should be
used to continuously monitor for carbon monoxide in the compressor supplied
breathing air. Random sampling only checks the air at that moment. It is
possible for any air compressor to draw carbon monoxide in via the air
intake at any time. The RAM-744 will operate continuously and provide both a
visual and audio alarm if carbon monoxide levels exceed the pre-set alarm
level. An auxiliary relay allows for the connection of a remote device. The
RAM-744 has been designed for use both indoors and out and will withstand
water splashes or droplets but it is not water proof and should not be
subjected to direct spray or submersion. |
|
General Description
The RAM-744 is a compact monitor, designed for use in portable and
stationary applications. It is designed to be installed inline via a ˝" NPT
inlet and outlet fitting and should only be used in conjunction with an
acceptable filter panel that contains a coalescing and carbon filter. The
RAM-744 is easily operated with one button and a rotary cam valve switch.
All user functions are affected directly by means of these two switches. |
|
Detection Principle
The RAM-744 measures carbon monoxide, using an electrochemical sensor. The
electrochemical sensor consists of an electrolyte, a working electrode
(anode), and a counter electrode (cathode). Selection of specific electrodes
and electrolytes make the sensor suitable for the gas to be monitored. The
conversion of the gas between the electrolyte and the electrode generates an
electrical signal which is proportional to the gas concentration. GfG's
electrochemical sensors operate on the capillary diffusion barrier
technology. |

ABL-50 Series
Respiratory Air Monitors
Manufactured by GfG
|
|
Continuously Monitoring Your Breathing
Air.
Designed to meet OSHA requirements for the monitoring of Grade D respirable
air from oil lubricated compressors this versatile instrument, with years of
proven performance, can be used for a wide range of applications. |
|
Equipped with a MOS Broad Range sensor, the
monitor not only responds and alarms to excessive carbon monoxide which
enters the airline system, but also to hydrocarbon contamination and other
oxidizable toxic gases. A durable corrosion resistant and tamper proof case,
rugged electronics, automatic purge, stable calibration and continuous
sample flow indication, are all combined to insure trouble free operation.
The ABL-50 is available in two models, the 1540 or 1541(with built in horn).
Both may be purchased with or with out an airline filter system. |
