RESPIRATOR FIT TESTING
|

 |
Sonic Safety Services provides cost
effective on-site Respirator Fit Testing, using both quantitative
and qualitative test protocols, as required for compliance with
OSHA regulations. Our trained and experienced technicians are able
to work in a variety of settings and work locations. Sonic Safety
has most NIOSH approved respirators probed for quantitative fit
testing (QNFT).
Although Sonic Safety will do qualitative fit testing (QLFT), we
do not recommend it. With current technology all NIOSH approved
respirators can be quantitatively fit tested. The quantitative fit
test (QNFT) provides the client with the most convenient,
accurate, and non-subjective form of testing. The test results are
immediate, unambiguous, and do not require any more time to
perform than the qualitative methods. |
The following is an
outline of Sonic Safety's standard fit testing services. These
reports and services can be modified as long as all regulations
are met. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may
have.
Frequency of test
- OSHA regulations require all employees using respirators to
be fit tested annually or semi-annually based on the hazard to
which they are exposed.
Type of test
- All fit tests will be in accordance with CFR 29 Part
1910.134.
Forms
- OSHA required medical evaluation questionnaire and
respirator use questionnaire will be filled out by employee and
management.
Reports
- A management report is furnished that will show the date of
test, respirator manufacturer, model, size, material,
quantitative fit factor, and id number of each employee. This
report will be accompanied by a printout of each test and a copy
of the test questionnaire signed by the employee and testing
technician.
- A laminated record card is provided for each employee who is
respirator qualified. This card will indicate the employee name,
id number, respirator manufacturer, model, size, material, qnff,
and date of test.
Note: An ID picture can be laminated on the card if desired.
