Course Requirements: |

Attendees must have completed a 20 hour CAOHC Certified Hearing
Conservation Course with in 5 years of course date. The Council of
Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) requires that
all certified hearing conservationist must be recertified every five
years. |

Course Description: |
|
This course will update the Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC)
in changes to state & federal regulations, review audiometric practices
and techniques. Also familiarize participants with new audiometric
equipment, its advantages & disadvantages. |

- The audiometer and test environment.
- Audiometric techniques.
- Supervised audiometric testing
- Audiogram review, referral, and employee follow-up

Course Director: |
|
Dr. Dana Oviatt is a graduate of Boston University (M.S.) and the
University of Wisconsin at Madison (Ph.D.) in Audiology. He has
practiced Audiology since 1977 as clinician, reseacher and teacher. Dr.
Oviatt has served as a clinician performing diagnostic auditory and
vestibular evaluations, as well as aural rehabilitation, at Glenrose
Hospital for Children, University of Michigan Hospitals and hospitals in
Boston. Dr. Oviatt was an adjunct professor of Audiology at Syracuse
University. He has presented and published numerous research
investigations on topics such as binaural amplification for the hearing
impaired, cochlear implants, and the effect of the middle ear on
noise-induced hearing loss. Dr. Oviatt is a COAHC-Certified Course
Director. Dr. Oviatt is licensed by the State of New York and certified
by the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association. |

Registration: |
|
Tuition must be received 30 days prior to the course date. Since
expenses are fixed, refunds cannot be given unless written cancellation
is received two weeks prior to the course. The fee is also transferable
to a subsequent course within a six month period. The fee includes lunch
and beverages at breaks.
